Sanjay Paswan

Sanjay Paswan is a Research Associate at the Social Observatory (SO) and is currently assisting in conducting participatory assessments and evaluations of the World Bank assisted livelihoods project, JEEViKA, in Bihar, India. His expertise lies in the application of ethnographic methods including semi- structured interviews, focus group and participant observation and the facilitation of participatory learning activities (PLA). Prior to joining SO, he was with PRAXIS India, where he worked on several research studies and capacity building initiatives including women empowerment, labor market transition and domestic migration, decentralized planning and governance, child protection, disaster risk reduction, preventive health etc. He has also worked with the Tribal Development Department of Gujarat Government where he managed multi-location education projects for tribal children in the state. Sanjay holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
