Community managed Health and Nutrition Care Centers (CHNCCs) provide health services such as Maternal and Child Health services for pregnant and lactating women, and balanced and nutritious food for malnourished women and children from poor and vulnerable communities. In addition to these services the CHNCC organizes monthly health check-ups for pregnant women and immunization camps for children. With assistance from the Social Observatory, the project has initiated the implementation of a mobile based CHNCC Management Information System (MIS), which captures the profile of beneficiaries and tracks their nutritional intake, immunization records and health check-up attendance. The system sends mobile based reports and alerts in local languages to community health workers so that they can monitor beneficiaries health status and assist in providing critical health related services in a timely manner.
